Life of a distance learner….

Distance ed on the beach!

Distance ed on the beach!

See the great picture above? That is my view this morning as I look out off my deck. I am amazed at the possibilities of distance education when I can sit on the beach with my laptop and continue course work.

With out the opportunities that distance education affords me, I would not have been able to travel and continue to work on my classes.

A few minutes ago I watched the video about K12 vision on technology and how they want to use that technology to learn. George I wonder what lives will be a few years from now for people who are not using technology some teachers don’t use technology in the classroom to engage their students during the learning process. Why is that?

I have a few thoughts. Some of an older generation may have a technological phobia. Others may not want to change what they have been doing for 20 years. I find that many faculty have the opinion, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” and see no reason to change the way they teach if they are still getting good results.
